Milton and Barbara Merlin, with Benita Hume Colman and Ronald Colman. The Merlins and the Colmans appeared together on Halls of Ivy.

Milton and Barbara Merlin worked as writers for radio and television from the early 1940s to the mid 1960s. This collection contains their papers and scripts:

  • Mr. President (1947-48)
  • Boston Blackie (1944)
  • The Ginny Simms Show (1943-45)
  • Everything for the Boys (1944)
  • The Man Called X (1944-46)
  • Halls of Ivy (1950-52) --
    their best-known program

The scripts also include the television version of Halls of Ivy and The Millionaire. In addition to scripts, the collection includes correspondence documenting Milton Merlin's involvement with various writers' organizations (such as the Hollywood Writers Mobilization) during World War II and the Radio Writer's Guild, in which he served as national president in the early 1950s.
