The new American Radio Archives and Museum building will be
constructed contiguous to the City of Thousand Oaks' 84,000 square
foot main library, The Grant R Brimhall Library.
Key components that will be included within the new building are:
- Students' Radio Theater
- Museum display area
- Norman Corwin Listening Room
- State of the art archival
facilities to house our expanding collection
- Engineering and disk jockey booth
- Office and working spaces for the
archivists
- Other support and related spaces
Cost of the project: Estimates
place the cost of this project at approximately $30-35 million. This
includes a $5 million endowment which will be used to support the
operating costs of the building. Honorary co-chairs of the capital
campaign to raise the funds required to complete this project are
Robert H. Ahmanson and Norman Corwin.
